A Brief History of Helvécia

In 2007, Ademar Pereira and Ronaldo Negrao got together and decided to create a competitive Brazilian-based team in London. Helvécia do Brasil was born. The first player the Club signed was Raoni Medina, now First Team Captain, who served as catalyst to attract other players to build the squad.

The Club’s initial aim: to promote futsal in the Brazilian Community in London. Virgilio Pereira Guimaraes joined as secretary and to the date remains in the position and as one of the pillars of the Club. The team first completed in the then called Futsal Premier League, based in London, which it won, giving access to the FA Cup and successively to Europe.

By then, the Club’s name had changed to Helvecia Futsal Club to be able to play the UEFA Cup, in which Helvecia has competed in three editions.Helvecia was a foundational member of the FA National Futsal League, winning the English national title five consecutive times and the FA Futsal Cup three consecutive times, making the Club the most successful in the history of the game in England. Renamed London Helvecia Futsal Club in the foundational season of the new FA Futsal Super League, the Club is now trying to regain the crown of English champions.
